Synopsis
Some limits are meant to be pushed. Y, a high school student, meets J, a 38-year-old married sculptor, and the pair soon quit their lives to hop from hotel to hotel in an increasingly dangerous sadomasochistic obsession. Adapted from Jang Jung-il’s banned novel Tell Me a Lie, LIES is “sly, witty, and at once perceptive, moving, queasy, and comically relentless” (Village Voice) and confirmed Jang Sun-woo (TIMELESS, BOTTOMLESS, BAD MOVIE) as “Asian cinema’s most provocative talent” (Time Out). New 4K restoration.
