Synopsis

Two brutes follow their balls, hence the title, as they grope, steal, and charm their way across the French countryside. Along the way, they pick up a shampoo girl, an ex-con, and a teenager in Bertrand Blier’s amoral “cross between a road-trip and Molotov cocktail.” (VARIETY) Dubbed “France’s answer to EASY RIDER,” this box-office smash made stars out of its cast — Gerard Depardieu, Patrick Dewaere, Miou-Miou, and Isabelle Huppert (in one of her earliest film appearances) — and became an instant classic when it debuted nearly 50 years ago.
