Synopsis
This 1928 silent film is one of the treasures of world cinema. Made entirely on location in India by pioneering Indian producer-star Himansu Rai and German director Franz Osten, it depicts the adventurous and romantic backstory of the love between the Mughal Emperor and Empress who inspired the building of the Taj Mahal.
